Get Results With a Clear Call To Action
"Because George was Tracking his results he knew something
needed to change. He made one small change to his Call To Action (CTA)
and Conversions went through the roof" ~ Brian Rooney, TrafficWave CEO.

Brian was right. The call to action was not much of a call. It said "Email Marketing By TrafficWave"
That interested no one. More importantly my audience was Food
Services People. They had no idea how Email Marketing might help them.
I changed my Call to Action. I tried a couple new CTAs and all worked better than the original. They were, "This is Why Restaurants want your Email" and "Email Marketing for Food Service Industry" and "How to Monetize your Dinner"
The underlying links are different too. The first one goes here: http://www.trafficwave.net/members/geomc57. Just a general Email Marketing Page.
The next two go here: http://www.trafficwave.net/members/geomc57/restaurants.html. And the Monitize your Dinner goes here: https://www.servethailand.com/ThaiFood/TWRestaurant.php.
This last link ends up on the TrafficWave Restaurant page but the URL
feels seemless since the Prospect is from my Thai Food FB Group.
Creating a clear call to action is often the difference between a
successful email marketing campaign and a flat-out flop. You’ve
crafted a beautifully designed email message. Your HTML is beautiful.
Your images pop. Your copy is crystal clear and compelling. Your
readers love what you wrote and they are ready to take action.
But nothing happens. No sales. No clicks. What’s missing?
Your reader doesn’t know what to do because you didn’t tell them what to do!
A Call To Action is simply a clearly written set of instructions
telling your reader what to do next. It may be “click on this
link” or “call this number” or “visit us
at”. It needs to tell your readers exactly what to do in order to
take advantage of your offer.
You can even attach an incentive to get your reader to take action such as:
Click Here To Receive a 20% Discount
or
Call Now To Take Advantage of a Free Trial
Check your current ads and email marketing messages. If they are missing this critical component, add a CTA today and resend!
Many times, this simple addition or adjustment to your email marketing message can have a massive impact.
I have seen advertising go from flat to fantastic by adding this one
simple feature. You may need to test a few different versions, like I
did, to find the option that gets you the most action. It is well worth
the time you will take to get this one right.
Here are a few ideas:
Instead of saying "Build a List" say "Start List Building in 30 Minutes or less".
Or perhaps, instead of "Join Now Free" say, "Claim your 30 Day free Pass"
Here are some more. In these first two the first "CTA" has no action
verb. It is a call, but informative. Not a Call to a Specific Action.
Instead of this: Used Text Books for Sale ««« Informative
Try this: Buy Used Text Books for $30 ««« the Verb "Buy"
Instead of this: Sale Ends Soon ««« Informative
Try this: Claim Offer Before 9/25 ««« the Verb Claim
In these two there is a verb but they are Vague.
Instead of this: Buy Now and Save ««« Save What?
Try this: Save $125 Off Your First Order ««« More specific save $125
Instead of this: Learn More ««« Learn, yes, but how
Try this: Book a 30-Minute Call Today ««« Learn by booking a call
Prospects are eager take action when the offer appeals to them. You
need to make sure you tell them exactly what action to take so they can
take advantage of your incredible offer!
